Hi, Everyone,
It is with a heavy heart that I send this letter. We have all lost someone very near to us, with the passing of Aaron Coyle. I wish I could tell you why these things happen, but I don't have all of the answers. I only know that we are in the hands of a loving God, Who will walk with us through this difficult time. He understands so very well what we are going through. After all, He watched His only Son die a horrible death for us. There is evil in this world and Aaron came face to face with it Tuesday night. It was a real hoot for me to have Aaron in my tribe this year at camp. What a lot of laughs he gave us all! Wasn't he a great contestant on our "The Price is Right" skit? And didn't he make a good husband in our "Water into Wine" Bible Drama? He wasn't our best athlete, but he sure enjoyed playing in our tribe competitions. He did a great job of fooling all of you in the "Where Do You Draw the Line?" game we played in my class. I knew that he and the other guys could fool the rest of you and they sure did. He had a great sense of humor and a great laugh. I know all of you have many more fond memories of Aaron. Hold onto them, guys. They can really help you in this difficult time. Please don't dwell on what Aaron missed out on, dying at such a young age. Rather, dwell on what God has promised us beyond this short life--life eternal with Him! Aaron will never again suffer pain or sorrow or hurt. He is safe in the arms of the One Who loves him more than any of us ever could or ever would. As King David said when his son died, we cannot bring Aaron back but one day we will go to be with him. Being older than all of you, I have probably suffered the loss of more loved ones than any of you. It is normal to question God's reasons for taking Aaron now. We probably won't have answers to these questions for as long as we live. But I do know that without God, I could never have made it through those tough times when I lost my dad, my grandparents, a young cousin, friends, etc. It is okay to question God and to cry your hearts out, but never forget how much He loves you and how much He loves Aaron. If you need to talk, please know that you can always call or e-mail me. I have just gotten a toll free number, which is 877-585-5188, pin # 0957. Please feel free to use it at any time. My e-mail is [email protected]. I am here for you. Also, you have pastors, youth leaders, Sunday School teachers and other Christian friends who will be glad to listen and pray with you. We need to hold onto God and to each other in these tough times. Please know that people all over the district are praying for Aaron's family and for you, his friends.
--With much love and many prayers to each of you,
Linda Barr
