yard drip system: outside faucet to hose with drippers at property's edge.
window locks, sensor lights, malibu yard spotlights. small house, big porch/yard.
beige berber/grey industrial carpet or bare painted concrete/wood floor.
lantana, ficus, california palm, bamboo, sugar cane, fig vine. banana trees.
a front porch slung with a mexican hammock. the back yard is for peeing.
a back porch with a hot tub. candles. wand butane lighter. gas grill.
a balcony with an american hammock & stand. screened porch. mosquito netting.
2nd floor south/west facing apartment with a good view of the sunset.
lots of little colorful lamps, japanese lanterns, and accent lights on timers.
a gas fireplace, or a fake electric one. ricemakers are very convenient.
keep small souvenirs from travels. don't keep gifts you don't want.
cordless AT&T phone (do not keep in bedroom) with answering machine.
all non-matching plates, cups, and utensils from pier 1/cost plus. chopsticks.
one cordless rechargeable drill with lots of bits. electric saw. staple gun.
wrench set, screwdrivers, hammer, duct tape, wd40, vinegar in spray bottle.
wire, plastic drywall anchors, screws, finish nails, bamboo poles.
Mag-Light flashlight: weapon of choice. various knives. fencing foil.
sleep on a big foam futon with lots of comfy pillows and a fleece blanket.
more fleece blankets. deep dish incense holder. big baskets for clothes.
bedside: airfilter, clock radio, votive candles.
PC with hundreds of MP3 files, napster, fast connection, standard speakers.
lots of baskets, slate chalkboard, low tables, stools. tv tray tables. ottomans.
north indian/african rugs, pillows, masks, saddles, buddhas, indian gods.
collapsable lawn furniture or console chairs can be comfy and portable.
buddha's words in bathroom. detailed maps. basket on top of toilet tank for TP.
big towels, big bathroom rug. radio in the bathroom. trash basket. votive candles.
curtains: 45"X6' white lengths of light cotton hanging low to floor by strings.
strings are fastened to top of window frame.
it should hang loosely and expose top 1/2 of window.
use as many curtains as necessary to cover width of window.
car:
don't own anything you can't put in your car. keep sweatshirt, jean jacket in car.
car: small, safe, efficient, good mileage, sturdy (acura integra). sit up high.
leave your sunglasses in the car. don't wear them or hang them from your neck.
weekday schedule:
sunset walk after work. barefoot when possible.
light evening workout 40 pound dumbells. pushups. crunches. shadowbox.
wash dishes by hand each night. set out to dry on lots of dish towels.
hot bath with radio or book. wash your face.
200 mcg of melatonin every night at 10pm.
weekend schedule:
weekend walks with a sony walkman radio/headphones and a sun visor.
hackysack. frisbee. fencing. walking. day hikes. inline skates. slow jog.
generally, don't read. bookstore browsing over coffee or soup is best.
a small tv with satellite access is plenty. IFC, Sundance, AMC.
health:
wash with tar shampoo. use temovate for psoriasis/eczema.
don't squeeze zits, use alcohol to dry. shave during morning shower.
walk everywhere possible, but don't wear yourself out. Stay warm at all times.
eat several light meals with lots of variety. take fish oil capsules.
24 hours: 8 hours eating, 8 hours digesting, 8 hours fasting.
brush after each meal with the softest brush. use floss, yellow listerine.
when sick, increase body temperature with heat, baths, coffee, expresso beans.
grab a piece of toilet paper, wipe down the seat. Leave the seat up.
if you read too much, radial keratotomy will fix the damage.
drink only bottled water and Guinness Stout. bring a water bottle everywhere.
eat: fruits, whole grain rice, turkey, fish, olive oil, almonds, european cheese,
tuna, whole grain toast, butter, macaroni&cheese, frozen green veggies,
hot soups and stews. green tea. hot or warm water. avoid ice, dried fruit.
keep regular habits, keep calm at all times, avoid stressful people and situations.
clothes:
jean jacket, hooded sweatshirt, fingerless gloves. laundry early sunday morning.
old leather jacket, hemp sweater, red headband.
shop for clothing at a used clothing exchange. buy new: socks, Tshirts, shoes.
keep a week's worth of warm comfy non-wrinkle workshirts. some flannel.
jcrew sweater & beefyT, bluejeans, white cotton socks, sneakers.
black longsleeve shirt, black pants & belt, dark hose socks, CAT hike shoes.
coloured boxers. keep an interesting old woolen suitcoat at work.
keep important numbers in your wallet, written on important business cards.
