We are currently reforming our unit for the 2007 season, and welcome anyone who is interested. We are stepping away from the political scene of reenacting, and would like to return to the roots of our unit.  We intend to reenact history for paying spectators, not "play war" as most units would like to do. WE TAKE HITS! There is nothing worse than seeing 200 guns go off, and not one soldier on either side falls. The pa 48th took great losses at the crater and other battles throughout its history, and there is no shame in portraying this. Shell hits and individual hits will be our signature as a unit. This is the 21st century, not the 19th century. We keep this in mind while reenacting, although relive history for the public as closely as possible. We will not go against history in any battle. If the battle is won by the north, perhaps we will not all die. If it was lost, you better bet we are all going down. We will also slow down and attend living history events as well. We are currently looking for a comissioned officer to lead us on the field. Until we find him (or her) I (Mike McHenry) will be the highest rank in our unit at 1st Sgt. There is plenty of room for privates, a corporal or two, and of course their families. We are a fun, yet family oriented unit. If you prefer to sleep while at camp, there will be room in civilian camps for families. If you prefer to sing and drink the night away, that too is allowed. When civilian camps are not available,  night goers will light a fire elsewhere to enjoy without disturbing others. If the Pennsylvania 48th Company G sounds like the unit for you, email us or call 717-449-0667
