| Calypso was the oldest daughter of a very wealthy and powerful family on the moon Rhea of Saturn. It was well known that one of the daughters of her family would one day marry the prince. Being the oldest, she naturally assumed she would be the one. She was very vain and proud that she would one day be the Queen. She was quite rude, selfish, and an all around mean girl. Her little sister was the compleate opposite, very kind, gentle and loving. Calypso hated her, because everyone loved her, and not Calypso. But when Calypso turned twelve she was told that she was not destined to be Queen, as she had thought. Her little sister would marry the prince and take the crown, and Claypso would be Sailor Rhea, and train young Saturn. This made the girl furious. She hated the fact that she had lost her crown to her sister, who she thought was a wimp. She also hated children, and didn't want anything to do with being a teacher. But her parents explained that she had no choice, that the goddess herself had chosen Claypso to teach Hotaru. This did little to easy the burning fury in the girl, but she knew she had no choice. She always resented this, and took her lasting anger out on anyone she came in contact with, including the other mentors. |
| Mythology: Rhea was a titan, the wife of Cronus, and mother of the gods. When she gave birth, Cronus would swalow the baby, fearing one of the children may try to steal his throne. But she protected the last baby, Zeus, by fooling Cronus into swallowing a stone raped in blankets. When Zeus grew up, he killed his father and freed his brothers and sisters. |
