| Young Elara was born the daughter of one of the nobles of the third moon of the planet Jupitor. She had a very happy childhood, growing up in a quaint, yet beautiful cotttage on a hill overlooking the capitol of Amalthea. When she was old enough, her father started taking her along to the palace when he had meetings. She loved to wander through the maze-like gardens there. That is were she met the prince, young James Metis. The two became very good friends, and spent many long days together, doing whatever came to their minds. But when Elara reached the age of thirteen, she was told of her destiny to be Sailor Amalthea, great mentor of Sailor Jupitor. This didn't bother the young girl, for she loved children very much, and would be happy to be a teacher. But before she could take her post, it was Amalthean custom that she must spend five years on Earth, studying to make herself stronger. This saddened her, for she did not want to leave her home, parents, or James. But she agreed, knowing that she could return to the life she loved in just a few short years. She was sent back to Ireland at the height of the reign of the Druids. She changed her appearance to that of a young Celtic girl, turning her pink hair to a beautiful auburn, and her blue eyes to clear emerald. Then she went to one of the many temples, and, considering her to be a poor orphan, the Druids took her in and began to teach her magick. She was very good at it, and this stunned her teachers. Because of her great skill and stunning beauty, they decided she must have been sent to them by the gods, and that she would, in time, become one of the greatest Druids in history. Time went, and as the years past, she grew in strength and beauty. Every one loved her, because she was so kind and gentle. Even the most timid of the wild creatures had no fear of her, and would come up to her. When the time of her trials came, she passed with flying colors, and so was awarded the mark of the goddess, a cresent moon tatooed on her forhead. Then, one evening, about three years after her arival, the temple was attacked by a band of pagan invaders, trying to over through the celts. When they reached the dining hall were Elara and the others were eating, they attacked with great ferocity. The Druids had very strong magick, but they were physically very weak, being scholars all their lives, and many of them being fairly old. It enraged gentle Elara that her teachers, who she had come to look upon as a second family, were being treated so. Suddenly, Elara burst from her hiding place with a feral screach, and a burst of blue light shown about her, acompanied by a shower of blue rose petals. This stunned every one into stoping the fight, and when the light dissipated, there stood, not the young girl they knew, but Sailor Amalthea, in all her strength. This transformation scared most of the invaders, and some ran just at the sight of her. To those remaining, she cryed 'I am Sailor Amalthea, defender of good and future mentor of Sailor Jupitor! You have invaded my home, and attacked my family! YOU SHALL PAY!' And with that, many of the others ran in fear for their lives, but the bravest few stayed, thinking her merely an illusion. She soon showed them how wrong they were. With just a few bursts of power, she had taken down the leader of the band and his right hand men. That was all it took to frighten the remaining invaders, and they retreated into the night, never to be seen again. When they were gone, Elara swooned and fainted, as the light and petals rippled around her again, less violently this time, to reveal Elara as they knew her, passed out on the floor. After a rest, she was better again, but the Druids were greatly shocked at her strange transformation. They then came to the conclusion that she was, indeed, a goddess, set down to Earth, and began to worship her. Elara protested, telling them that she was not a goddess, that she was still the same girl they had known, and that nothing had changed. They were hard to convince, but eventually, things went back to normal. After this, she was given another tatoo, this one on her arm. The symble of the trinity, which binds the world together. The five years past very swiftly, and too soon it was time for her to return home. On her eighteenth birthday, they Druids told her she was now a woman, and must start choosing her own path in life. She was welcome to remain at the temple if she wished, but if she wanted to leave, they would not stop her. She knew she must go, to finnish prepairing for her duties as mentor, but it was a hard goodbye. She explained to the Druids that she wished to go out and see the world, and that she might never return again. This saddned them, but they knew that she was strong enough to make it. So with heavy hearts, they bid farewell to her, and she set off. She went deep into the woods, were she had been left five years ago, and there she waited, saying goodbye to her animal friends. Soon, her mother arrived, looking just as beautiful as Elara had remembered. They went home, and there was a grand feast and ball that night, in honor of her return. When she was reunited with James again, she found that her feelings for him had changed. She still cared for him very deeply, but it was a new feeling, something she had never felt before. Looking in his eyes, she could tell he felt the same way. They soon realized that this strange new feeling was love, deep and pure, and were soon married. A year later, her training fininshed, she was dispatched to Jupitor to meet the young princess, Lita, who was to become Sailor Jupitor. Lita was, at first, not very welcoming, and even a bit rude. She was sort of a tom boy, and had no desire to be taught by the very 'lady like' Elara. But Elara's kindness and gentle strength soon won over the young princess, and they became quite good friends. Their time together was devided, with Elara sometimes coming to Jupitor, and with Lita sometimes coming to Amalthea. They soon became as mother and daughter, and had great times together. Elara and James had two children of their own, Corin and Cora. They were like a little brother and sister for Lita, and the three children always had fun together. But soon the time came for all the Mentors to gather together to meet the new baby princess of the Moon, Serenity........ |
