Oscillate ‘Minor Triggers’
mini-album/EP
on Rubber Records through BMG
Josh
Abrahams & Amiel Daemion were not the first in this line of
music but many guy-technology/girl-vocals groupings have arisen since their Addicted
to Bass hit high-rotation on the Js
a few years ago. Right out of that same genre, albeit with more technology and
a New Millennium groove, comes Melbourne’s Oscillate, featuring Ivan
Khatchoyan (keys and stuff) and Jessy Turner (mic), and
their debut mini-album/EP “Minor Triggers” on Rubber Records through BMG.
Most of us learned of this pair through
their “In
Line” single from last month, and “Minor Triggers” follows right
down the line with six more tracks (seven if you count the extra music after
‘Ego’ at the end of the record) of not-too-heavy, not-too-light, not-just-right
style of ‘Pop Industriphop’. It was hard to stop the influence of the
exceedingly catchy In Line
on the rest of the record… but that said, it is the stand out track from the
seven, along with Ego and State of Mind.
Oscillate
mini-album/EP “Minor Triggers” on Rubber Records through BMG sets the standard for a new breed of
music – get into it…
