Review - Urban Guerrillas "Soundtrack to
the Revolution"
independent EP through Watchful Eye Records
It
must be Christmas! There’s an Urban
Guerrillas CD in the post box! Huzzah! A busy year gig-wise for Ken
Stewart and his band sees their return to your CD player in the
guise of their latest independent album "Soundtrack
to the Revolution" through their own Watchful Eye label.
Ken says
in the covering letter, “This album has a few newies and also puts together all
the songs in the past few years that have never made it to a production album.”
He goes on to say that some of them were on "Cloud Above My Head" and still others were on the “Valley of Waste” 6-track single which are
still available as a burn-to-order basis. The release of "Soundtrack to the Revolution" should make that basis
redundant.
Because
I was privy to the release of "Cloud Above My Head" there really isn’t much more to add
in that regard. You can click on the links
to that review for my view on that release. Suffice is to say, though, that if you,
too, were privy to this collection then Soundtrack
is not for you. But if you’re keen on the socially-aware musings of Ken,
Anthony,
Michael
and their guests, then get in touch with Ken
through any of the links in this review, or check them out at a gig near you
soon.
