Review - Henry’s Anger “Personality Test”
album on
Chatterbox Records through Phantom
One
of the biggest things out of Canberra since... well, very few bands of note
come out of the Nation’s Capital,
which has probably led to the ire expressed by Henry’s Anger on their
full-length debut “Personality Test”
on Chatterbox Records through Phantom.
This
is Australian hard-core at its best, combining the local sounds of MYC,
early (Andy McLean) Horsehead, Mark of Cain and Def Ryme
with the styles of overseas acts including RATM,
Raised Fist,
Korn, Tool and
most of all the Chris
(Soundgarden) Cornell
vocalising. All this has been taken to the masses via gigs with VOD, Suicidal
Tendencies, Testeagles and Nitocris
and it is planned to take it further afield over the
next 12-18 months.
Standout
tracks on “Personality Test” include Dollar Eighty, Fragment, Blowfly and Exit and basically, while not fully
in-your-face like many of the above-named tend to get, it’s out there:
definitely worthy of the “potential hazard represented to loose roofing and low
aircraft” warning!
