Review – F.U.L.L. “Letterbomb”
“Letterbomb” is the first full-length release by Westralian
rock kings F.U.L.L. Brothers
Chris
and Steve Gibbs team up with Nick Compton to
produce a sound that has been lacking in the West for a long time, but has been
coming from the Eastern cities, in a form, for just as long.
Twelve tracks are listed, three we already know
from “$ellout” and the other nine fairly much follow the trend
established thereon, but with more ‘oomph!’ than we have been led to expect
from that and from “Coffee”. Influences including Crawlspace, The Mark Of Cain, Black
Sabbath and Soundgarden
have been added to the sonic barrage that has become a F.U.L.L. release, and we’re
left wondering just why it is that Perth have kept this band to themselves!
Maybe they’re afraid of losing them to us Easterners! A fair call too, and with
a tour pending (at the time of writing) that could just be a risk that fair
city will have to take!
F.U.L.L. just exceed themselves with each
release, and it’s only through more exposure on national outlets that more
people around the rest of the country will learn what they’ve been missing for
three records now, and seek out more!
