Review - Pre_shrunk “Triple
A side”
single on Phantom Records
Pre_shrunk are a 3-piece
Melbourne-bassed (sic) outfit who have taken the well-worn bass-guitar
tradition and thrown it clear across the back yard and into the creek! Two of
these three pieces are bass guitarists, so while one takes the rhythm role, the
other takes the lead (and vice-versa I’ll assume) with very interesting
results!
Pre_shrunk “Triple A side” is Primus
without the guitars but heavy and with a solid dance beat in soundpimp and flutterbye. Pump up the bpm and magnify the heavy in ultrawhilte, proving you don’t need 6
strings to kick metal arse! Pre_shrunk
is David (Snog/Black
Lung) Thrussell with
attitude and direction: off beat, left of centre, completely alternative
but in-your-face and totally out-there! This is the type of stuff to
which TISM homeboys have
their stereos going Untz, as well as
the westie metal-heads!
Pre_shrunk “Triple A side” single is exactly that - three songs of equal magnitude and stature
that will earn the guys a place in a lot of record collections «««««
