Froghollow five-track
demo CD
Having basically poo-pooed the initial 7-track
demo CD due to it’s, let’s face it, crap recording quality, Warren
offered to send me another demo. I had dismissed, unheard (beyond a cursory
5-10 secs per track), the initial disc and was keen
to see if the next CD would be listenable / reviewable
/ airable.
And so came the Froghollow 5-track demo.
The opening track, I Can’t Reach You Anymore, is basically a bonus track – the others appeared either ex-studio or live on the previous CD so there was more but less of their repertoire. What happened to That Night and Rain? I suppose it doesn’t matter. They’d still do them at the gigs wouldn’t they? But the real bonus is that the time at Zen was well spent! Hoorah!! All the details are there on their site http://froghollow.cjb.net and if you don’t want to buy the music there’s a sizeable chunk of it available through their links at mp3.com.au/.
So it was with this new-found interest that I re-visited the first demo, with new found support for the band. Theirs is not a mainstream bent but then if you wanted a mainstream bent you’d be out watching the covers / concept bands / duets playing your favourite Austereo songs, wouldn’t you! Give ‘em a go (Froghollow, I mean, not the overpaid overrated covers / concept bands / duets playing your favourite Austereo songs)…
