Review – Euphonic
self-titled CD EP
Euphonic rock! Even though I’m
currently listening to the second of four tracks from their self-titled CD EP I
can state that categorically, undeniably and without fear of contradiction! But
without consulting Sue Management or one of two email addresses on the CD
cover, that’s about all I can say about Euphonic
before I listen to any more.
Whew! OK so now to the writing of this review
– what a fantastic record! From the opening flanged/phased phrases of Not My
Idea to the lower-key more-laid-back The Automatic Love Fanatic to Living
Extra, this album’s only disappointments were that there seemed not to be
the ending to Not My Idea that the ending promised, and that there were
no more songs after Living Extra! There is no one stand-out track,
although if put to the mat for a choice I’d have to go with the opener and
closer for their choppy, cheery, hook-laden Gibson-driven alterna-pop/rock
beats that just keep on keeping on, and the Robert Plant styled
vocalising in the adlib-to-fade.
If this CD doesn’t do for Euphonic
what it did for me, I will… well, I’ll be most disappointed if immediate
commercial addition and an album release don’t follow soon! «««««
