My Letter
This is a letter that I wrote to various newspapers and magazines about myself and what I was doing. The responses were very positive, and led to the articles provided.

--------------------

Multiple Sclerosis
Sunday June 8th, 2003.

My name is Paul Stock, I am a 29 year old single male. Presently, I am employed by an automobile parts supplier, as a tool & Die maker.
The reason for my letter to you is to explain briefly how the disease has affected my life.  For the last
8 - 9 years I have enjoyed working out and staying in shape. For the last 7 to 8 years I have felt a little different with several different symptoms As a result, on Feb 14th, 1999 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The diagnosis set me on my butt for about 11/2 years before I got back into the swing of things and got myself back into the gym. In December of 2002, I decided to set a goal for myself. And train for a body building contest. For the last 8 months I have been on a strict diet and program at the gym. Today I got photographs taken of myself, as I need a recent picture of myself to apply for a spot in the contest.
The result I have gotten from my training has totally paid off so far. On Thursday June 5th, 2003 my body weight was 173.5 pounds with 6.25 % body fat. Today I was 169.8 pounds.
For the last 4 years I have been at the same gym and seen a large amount of people come and go from their lack of motivation and dedication.
I would, some how, like to get my story out to people who need motivation to stay inspired. There are people in the world who are affected by this problem and other different diseases and have come forth to share their story with a tremendous response. The way that I am dealing with this (I hope) might have a positive affect on people as I am just a normal guy who lives in a small town north of Toronto.
The show that I am competing in is called Muscle Mania and is held on the weekend of July 17th to 19th 2003 at the Metro Toronto
Convention Center. I don't know what to expect from this show but one thing that I do know is that I expect to win my category in my weight class. If There is a way for you to help me get my message across to people who are newly diagnosed with a condition and who have lost hope for leading a normal life, then I would really appreciate the help. Even if I could inspire a few people then this letter has reached the proper place.
I will enclose a picture of myself that was taken on the same day that I have written this letter. If  another letter is required and phrased differently, then I would be more then happy to do so.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.

                   Sincerely,
                    Paul Stock
