In February 2000, most residents collected the keys to their apartments and prepared to move in. Just as the residents were about to settle down and enjoy condominium living, tragedy struck.
On 3 August 2000, 3 units in Block B were broken into. The incident happened in the space of 1 hour on a calm evening. Prior to that, there had been only 1 or 2 isolated incidents.
Most residents were shocked and unhappy. Mr. Kelvin Ng, one of the residents who had been robbed, initiated a meeting between the residents of Paradesa Rustica, the developers and media representatives.
The Pro-Tem Committee of the Residents' Association was formed from that meeting.
Since the formation of the committee, residents have seen many happy developmental milestones in the neighbourhood.
The Residents Committee would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all who have given selflessly and voluntarily of their time to build a safe and caring community in Paradesa Rustica.
As Mr. S.K. Ong, Deputy President of the Pro-Tem Committee of the Residents Association said:
