Dubai
We visited Dubai in the spring of 2004, it was a cool place to visit and we hope to go back someday. In Dubai there are tons of fancy shops and expensive cars. The buildings there are amazing not only do they have interesting architecture but at night they display an intricate light show that changes colors every few minutes. The shopping in Dubai is incredible you can find the latest fashions from America, Europe, Asia, and Egypt. Their malls are HUGE I've never seen so many stores in one place before, and they all have cool themes like the Egyptian scene in the Wafi City Mall. Dubai is constantly finding ways to grow and improve, they are in the process of making the World's largest mall and theme park. Also in construction is the lovely 'Palm Islands' which can be seen from space. The Palm Islands are two man made islands built in the shape of palm trees. The properties on these future islands are selling like hotcakes, their prices ranging from 100,000 - 3,000,000 dollars. When completed these two islands are said to be the 8th World Wonder. There is an extremely low crime rate in Dubai and it is amazing how clean the city is, there's not a speck of garbage on the ground and the buildings sparkle in the sun. There's tons of American restaurants there and they all deliver right to your door. During the month long 'Shopping Festival' there are drawings and giveaways every where you look and almost all of the prizes are expensive cars. I saw a Lamborghini as one of the free drawing deals if you bought a Dell desktop. One of the best things about Dubai is there: are NO TAXES! For more information about Dubai see my Dubai Links Page.
