Part XI
Back on Namek…
Mamoru’s symbol flared to
life in a mixture of green and gold light. He teleported to King Kai’s
world, he dropped out of the sky and gripped her by the arms. "Usako, Usako,
snap out of it!"
She snarled like an animal
and fought his grip, "NO! He destroyed my Mother World! He destroyed me!
I’m gone! I’ll kill him! I’ll kill him!"
Mamoru grasped her to his
chance, "No! This isn’t you! You don’t kill if you don’t have to!" he whispered
to her, she calmed down minimally.
"I can learn." she growled.
But a little of the bloody
tinge faded from her crescent, suddenly four dots of light appeared inside
they carried a person, they appeared before them, and each loosed a planetary
scout. They rushed to Usagi, Rei held her hand. "Usa-chan! Don’t give in!
You’re stronger than the rage! Have hope!"
A little more of the blood
faded. Then Ami grasped her hand. "Please, its only an emotion. It doesn’t
rule you, you draw power from your spirit. Please don’t give up!"
Makoto held her other hand,
"Come on fight!" Sanity returned to Usagi’s eyes, but there was still a
little way to go.
Minako rubbed her hand across
Usagi’s forehead, "Princess! You’re the stronger! I believe in you!" she
whispered.
Sanity returned full force.
Usagi held herself up on Mamoru’s arm, she looked at Piccolo. "You have
been saved this day. But beware, our day of reckoning will come, and only
one will leave the battle field still alive, and all the Dragonballs in
the Universe won’t bring you back from where I will send you!" she whispered.
Piccolo shied away from the
eerie light in her eyes.
Usagi looked around them, they
had returned to Namek. Freeza was here, the fight was here. Usagi walked
a razor edge line of sanity, the abyss gaped on both sides, waiting to
swallow her. She forced the macabre vision away from her, she would walk
that edge and she would survive. Instead she focused on the fight ahead.
In retrospect she regretted
the threat she had made to Piccolo, she tried to fool herself that she
would actually kill such a person, instead of taking the easy way and focusing
on his faults, she focused on his virtues. She sat down cross-legged and
let herself slip into a meditative state. She then focused on Piccolo,
not the outside Piccolo, but the one on the inside. She found herself leaving
her body, astrally.
She came to Piccolo, who was
in such a similar position as herself. She concentrated on seeing him as
he really was. Not arrogant, but what was buried underneath. It was like
a piece of Mica, with it’s many layers, soon she had permeated the layers
and say Piccolo, small and afraid, tortured by the many battles and deaths
he had witnessed. She hesitantly laid a calming hand on the miniature Piccolo’s
shoulder. She swallowed her rage and put an understanding smile on her
face, the miniature Piccolo looked at her and found himself drawn out by
that smile.
Piccolo had retreated deep
within himself and was concentrating firmly on the goal, but then a warmth
touched his soul. To the very depths, he saw an understanding smile and
felt comforting arms enfold him into their warm embrace, it was, it was
like nothing he had ever felt, the closest thing he could imagine was the
human concept of, mother. HE found himself closing his eyes and…falling
into a contented sleep. Soon if you looked at Piccolo, you could hear a
soft snore and a soft smile decorating his lips, but there was no one to
see.
Usagi smiled as the small
Piccolo fell asleep in her arms. She felt, it was hard to explain, like
she had when she had rescued Chibi-Usa from Rubeus. She sighed and could
easily imagine both a young Chibi-Usa and Piccolo in her arms, quietly
sleeping, or in that particular case, Chibi-Usa snoring loudly and Piccolo
sleeping quietly. Soon she found her time growing short and laid Piccolo
down, with an echoing promise that she would be back. She retreated back
into her own flesh.
As Piccolo slowly awoke he
felt the embrace gone and an echo in his mind of return, as he slowly rubbed
his eyes, he remembered the smile and wondered who his own mother was.
Then he remembered, he didn’t have a mother. He was that other half of
Kami. He rubbed his face and went to the stream to wash it.
Usagi, he saw out of the corner
of his eye, washing herself in the same stream. As she watched, she suddenly
looked up at the sky, tears began to trickle down her cheeks.
Usagi furiously scrubbed her
face to wash away the foolish tears when she felt a touch on her arm. "Tears
aren’t such a bad thing." Piccolo’s voice came out, oddly comfortingly.
She looked up at him and made
an attempt at a smile, "I guess not, I’ve been doing it long enough." She
half joked. She took a deep breath, "I’m sorry, about before. I wasn’t
in my right frame of mind, I just felt that the moon on earth was gone.
When I’d been there before, I’d had drawn enough to survive for awhile.
But after awhile I began to realize it was gone, and then it, it just hit
me, like someone slapped me." She came to a trembling stop, Piccolo patted
her shoulder and she threw herself into his arms and began to sob uncontrollably,
not her usual, sonic scream, but a quiet racking sob that tore to the soul.
Piccolo, unsure of what to
do, put his own arms around her and stroked her hair as the figure from
his dream had done for him. Usagi soon fell into an exhausted sleep, and
Piccolo carried her to her pallet and covered her up. Then she retreated
to make sense of the emotions warring with in him.
King Kai watched the entire
scene. "He’s taken the first step."
Usagi woke up on her pallet,
she looked around, she hadn’t remembered getting in. She shrugged and got
out. She looked around herself, it was early twilight, most everyone was
asleep. She stretched and decided to go and warm up.
She stood in a small clearing.
She centered herself and took a deep breath, her eyes snapped open and
she performed several jumps kicked, forward and backward rolls, and came
down in relatively the same spot she had launched herself. "That’s good,
but you faltered on your second jump kick."
She spun and relaxed as she
saw it was only Piccolo, "I know. I realized it as soon as it happened."
she said. Piccolo nodded. "Thanks."
He looked at her, "For what?"
Usagi frowned, "For being
there."
She looked away and began
to concentrate on a small boulder, thunder began to rumble and Usagi looked
up. "Oh wonderful." she muttered. The storm was brief, but when it stopped,
Usagi’s curse had been activated. "I hate my life." she muttered.
Piccolo was staring at her.
"How did you do that?" he sputtered.
Usagi sighed, "I have a curse,
when I get splashed with cold water I turn into a cat woman, in this form
I go by Orlin Cari." she stared at the boulder once more, she cupped her
hands before her, "Aroyyo Colin Sai!" The boulder exploded under her Chi
blast.
Orlin sighed and went to one
knee, she held her Staff in one hand and looked it over, there was a large
Cat’s eye gem set into it and below was the Ginzuishou. "This has to serve
some purpose." she muttered. Then the answer came to her, she suddenly
leapt up, with all the agility of a cat and sent Chi to the Staff, she
aimed it towards another small boulder, she threw her Staff at it head
first and it exploded a second before the staff hit it. She gasped as the
Staff flew back to her and the glow faded, "Air pressure alone!" she mused.
Piccolo was sitting in mid
air cross legged as usual. "It seems your cat form is not so much of a
curse."
Orlin shrugged, "I still can’t
go swimming."
Orlin, now Usagi gathered the
Planetary Senshi and told them of her plan. With a few modifications, the
Senshi would now help her in facing Freeza.
Sailor Moon knelt on a ridge
just beyond the site where Freeza’s space pod was. She glanced over to
the others, who were spread out along the ridges. Usagi smiled to herself,
this Freeza had put himself in an area absurdly easy to attack. She noticed
a a small purple guy with a long tail standing over the Dragonballs. She
thought to the Elementals, who had been sent to guard the Eldest Namek,
who held the secret of the Dragonballs. She put her mind back on track,
she saw the signal, a small bit of light refracting off Ami’s computer
case, One, two, three times. She nodded and bunched muscles beneath her,
she leapt into the air and landed before Freeza.
Freeza choked as the impetuous
girl landed before him. He scowled at her, "What do you want?"
The girl smirked, "Hand over
the Dragonballs Freeza." she demanded.
Freeza’s eyes widened, "Oh
really, make me!"
She shrugged, "OK. Cosmic
Moon Power!" A small Crystal floated between her palms.
Freeza laughed, "That? That’s
what you are going to use to defeat me?"
Sailor Moon watched impassively,
"Fight this evil!" The Crystal lit up and hit Freeza full on. Freeza gasped
at the sheer magnitude of this attack.
"Such strength!", he gasped
and retaliated with his own blast, it faltered for a second and then grew
stronger, Sailor Moon flinched a little under the assault, but pressed
on.
The eldest Namek gasped, "It
has come!", he gasped.
Dande looked up at him, "What?"
Hydra, Aeros, Pyros, and Terra
looked at him. "What?"
He gripped the side of his
chair. "She had come! The Moon Child!",
The Crescent Moon on Usagi’s
forehead flared to lie and then she was in her princess gown, it flared
again and she was in her school uniform, again and she was Orlin Cari,
the Crescent Flared and this time did not die, her forms kept shifting.
Freeza was unable to get a visual lock, with each shift her power grew
and soared until…
Freeza’s scouter shattered.
He gasped, "This is impossible! She had a reading higher than mine!"
She stopped shifting forms,
now she was none of them, she was Usagi, her eyes were closed and she wore
a simple white dress, she opened her eyes and all trace of iris or pupil
was gone. Two pure hit wings extended from her back, then she spoke, none
of her voices, and all of them. "Freeza, you have done horrible things
in your life, I give you this chance to repent.",
Freeza scoffed, "No way! I
am Freeza , anyone stand in my way shall perish!" Any last vestiges of
Sanity disappeared from his crazed eyes. He threw his entire being into
his attack..
The Moon Child Faltered, then
she felt a spirit touch her own, it was Mamoru, **I believe in you Usako!
You can do it you can beat him! **
Then the Elementals, **Come
on Usagi! We know you can do it! Show him who’s boss Usagi!**
Then the Planetary Senshi,
**Hey Odangoe Atama! We believe in you, we’re rooting for ya!**
Then the Samurai of Silence,
**Yo Sensei! We know you can do it! Knock him dead!"**
The Moon Child smiled, she
turned her full attention onto Freeza, "I will defeat you! You shall not
stray to hurt these people! Eternal Life shall not be yours!" She screamed,
then something tore inside and a flow of pure bright energy flowed into
her and at Freeza. He perished in a flash of light.
Usagi floated back down to
the ground, Captain Ginue lay smoking from the E.S.F’s attack. The Dragonballs
were safe once more, they began to glow and the Eternal Dragon appeared
and faced Goku, "I am the Eternal Dragon, I will grant one wish to he who
summons me. What is your wish?"
Goku swallowed, and looked
to his friends, who still had little halos hovering over their heads. "I
wish our friends back to life."
"Your wish had been granted."
the dragon disappeared.
Usagi blinked several times
and the irises and pupils returned to her eyes. "Whoa what a rush!" she
gasped. Suddenly a group of Nameks ran over the hill.
"Here they are!" one shouted.
Usagi looked to Goku, "Your
wish was fulfilled to a greater extent than you know. The Nameks have been
returned to life." she smiled, then looked to Mamoru, he nodded and the
Planetary Senshi gathered. She held the Mirror in one hand.
King Kai blinked, "Where are
you going?"
Usagi smiled, "We are all
going home." A small prismatic sphere stopped above their heads and spit
out the Elementals, Chi-Chi ran to embrace Goku and Gohan. She smiled,
"Everyone ready?" They all nodded. Usagi held the Mirror over her head.
"Let’s go!" Three Prismatic Spheres engulfed the Separate groups and sped
the warriors homes, except Usagi and Mamoru, they went to the next Dimension,
the next group, and the next trial.
