Feature Based Machining

Face Milling and Cavity Milling processors can perform feature-based machining. Like the Holemaking processor, they use the Machining Features Manager to create, view, delete, and modify machining features. Machining features are created by identifying CAD features (pockets and slots) or user defined features, recognizing geometry (subtracted solids), or tagging geometry. By applying machining rules to these features and recognizing their properties and attributes, the system groups them, creates appropriate operations, chooses appropriate tools, and determines appropriate cut methods and machining parameters.
