It's fairly apparent that I was into the swing of using decoupage in my paintings at this point. The painting was begun after my wife and I (my fiancee at the time) threw our first and unfortuantely only Mad Tea Party, a full costume affair held outdoors. A friend's mother asked if I would paint her something, anything at all, and I began this as an hommage to the circle of friends that attended the Mad Tea Party that March. I'm not certain of the reason I stopped painting on this canvas, and the desire to return to it has not cropped up strongly enough yet.
