What is DNA?

DNA stands for deoxyribose nucleic acid and is composed of sugar, a nitrogen base, and phosphate. DNA is a nucleic acid that is present in your body due to its major purpose. This molecule contains your genetic makeup/"instructions" used during the process of developement and function in all human beings and other living organisms.
DNA has a basic structure. With the nitrogen base that is present in DNA, there are four basic bases attached to it: Adenine, Guanine, Thymine and Cystosine (abbreviated A, G, T, and C). With each base comes what is called  complementary base pairing. This means that with DNA there are two seperate strands and on each strand contains a nitrogen base, and attached to each of them is one of the four bases.
With each attached base there is a corresponding base, where opposites attract. Adenine and Guanine are both double nitrogen bases(see diagrahm), while Thymine and Cytosine are single nitrogen bases. A specific single attracts with a specific double: Adenine and Thymine/Guanine and Cytosine.
