| Unlucky in love, the clumsy Skippy travels cross country to Hollywood hoping to win a national contest for a date with the beautiful movie star Julia Fontaine. Unfortunately, a dangerous criminal sent to prison for stalking Julia has escaped. Upon arrival in LA Skippy rents a room from a geek named Larry and informs him of the contest. Larry takes Skippy to meet the sleazy Ringo and together they try to whip him into shape to win the contest. After Julia barely escapes two near death murder attempts Julia's protective manager, Gorden Gates, gets Detective Stone hot on the Hitman's trail. Skippy prevails winning the contest and a date with Julia to the Academy Awards. That night after Julia wins the Oscar, Skippy and Detective Stone capture the Hitman and find out...
