| (Gameplay continued.) Two new additions have been added to the weapon select button. The first is a way to select your weapon without having to scroll through them all like in Goldeneye, in Perfect Dark you merely hold down the weapon select button and a menu will come up where you can select you weapon right on the spot or course Goldeneye's scrolling is still there for those who prefer it. The second addition refers to something that is in the multiplayer modes only by holding down the weapon select button then pressing fire twice it will go to the Simulant command menu Rare's fancy name for bots each of the commands give orders to the bots like defend , protect, attack, and other commands like that. Which while i'm on the subject of bots they add the newest gameplay twists in the game if your playing alone but want a partner in Co-operative mode you can add a bot in with you to be you assistant and help you through the one player mission you start out with only Joanna Dark's sister velvet dark but more characters with better firepower can be earned to use in Co-op. But the best place to use the bot's in multiplayer is the combat simulator where the bots can be your comrades or your enemies or even both! The gameplay in Perfect Dark truly is spectacular and actually better then Goldeneye's when you come to grips with the new weapons. Game Modes (10/10). Where Perfect Dark truly shines is in this category. It has a shooting range , and tons of multiplayer modes here's a rundown of them. Shooting Range - A fun but incredibly hard target range where you must master all the weapons to gain old guns from Goldeneye to use in single player. Co-operative- Either you and a friend or you and a bot take on the single player missions together (Great for if you need help in Single player.). Counter-Op - Intriguing mode where one person plays as Joanna and the other plays as the enemy troops skipping from soldier to soldier as one dies kind of like Agent smith in the Matrix this mode requires both players knowing the level well especially the one being the soldiers since they have such short lives. Combat Simulator - What might just be the best mode in the whole game is Perfect Dark's version of Multiplayer Deathmatches. There's tons of modes within the combat simulator itself you can pick every gun you want in the match and pick their placement. The new arena 's are good but the best one is Area 51 with many hiding spots but if your anything like me the best levels are the retextured ,newly added area in each, classic Goldeneye levels . There are only three and you have to earn them but they're well worth it to see the Complex, Facility, and Temple again. There are also three different new modes added a Hacking mode where one player gets a small device and has to find a laptop to download points it works well as a team game, Then there's pop a cap where someone becomes the target to hunt. Finally, King of the Hill where you have to hold certain areas in the arena's for points which randomly respawn. Last, but not least are the simulants themselves you can change their outfits ,their face, difficulty and even team. They add a lot to the game they're pretty smart and work great to play team games against like capture the flag making the matches seem much larger like a computer game deathmatch. Also now you can save all the kill statistics to a file with you death count and kill count and truly show everyone whether or not your truly a PD Champion. [Final Page..... ] |
