Great Intercontinental Pub Crawl
An enormous pub crawl [free of course] to foster a feeling of greater world togetherness - Huzzah
Information for those new to the Crawl

Welcome to the 2008 Pyssedas Great Intercontinental Pub Crawl. If you have crawled with us before you probably know most of the things that will appear in this post. But if this is your first time with us read on for more information about the greatest crawl on Earth.

The most basic information you need to know is that the GIPC is free to participate in, open to anyone wherever they live in the world, and that through your participation you will meet [online at least] some most excellent people.

The plan goes like this – on Saturday May 31st 2008,  people all around the world will go bar/pub crawling as best they can. In 2007 we had 143 venues in 66 cities in 16 countries on all 7 terrestrial continents participating! You might want to crawl with your normal drunken mates or use this as opportunity to meet people from online brewing forums in your area etc. Some places even use the opportunity to raise funds for local charities.

Then its really just a question about how much more you want to get involved!

Each year we produce a Crawlers Almanac [distributed for free!] which includes pictures of the places people are crawling, rememberances of crawls past, brewing recipes and pretty much anything else you can think of – a classic example of the more you contribute the more you will get out of it philosophy of the whole show. This year we also plan to include a list of cell/mobile phone numbers for people who are happy to receive text messages while crawling – so that you can tell where the rest of the world is up to!

As you can see in the picture of the Melbourne Crawlers we also make t-shirts every year. Basically consisting of the crawl logo on the front and a list of venues participating on the back. These can be bought for the production price plus mailing from Australia – usually pretty cheap.

So what do you do if you want to be more involved?

Well first of all tell us the name of city & country you are crawling in – then when you work out what bars/pubs/houses/gutters you will be in tell us that too!

The easiest way to tell us is by mailing us at [email protected]

If you want to be more involved come over to the crawl forum at:

http://www.pyssedas.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=12

to plan your city’s crawl, help with shirt design and add items for the Almanac.

So – any questions?
