![]() The art and happenings in the life of Caroline McDonough, a photographer based in Jackson, Michigan. Shindig ![]() We dare not trust our wit for making our house pleasant to our friend, so we buy ice cream.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson I survived my first Relief Society shindig as an Emergency Relief Society Shindig Operations Chick, or whatever my calling is. I was called six weeks ago, which would have been plenty of time if I'd had any clue what I was getting into, but no, I did not. Oh, how little I understood! The lasagna (vegetarian in nature, I'm still on the wagon!) was quite good, if a tad crisp thanks to a little experimentation in lasagna reheating techniques. Joe, our RS president's fiancé, took care of us well in the cooked-food arena. I brought plenty of vegetables for tossing into the salad, and we have enough of everything (including a fantastic strawberry short cake) left over for tomorrow's Break the Fast after church. I am pleased. Unfortunately for my dearest Relief Society presidency (three of whom are engaged to be married this summer--ye gads!), I am going to go completely OCPD control-freak for the next shindig. Oh yes, there will be timetables. I'm getting my thoughts about them gathered together. Woe to those who follow not my agendas! 2007-03-25 04:09:32 GMT
