Entry for August 24, 2006
Dear Family and Friends,
Wow 5 days now Phil has been in good shape in the food department. He just went to bed feeling a little queasy but so far so good. His stomach was growling today. I think the Homeopathic remedy Dr. Kale gave him might be starting to work.Phil was up almost all day today. He took a little one hour nap around 1:00 then the CPAP person came and gave him a new and different kind of mask to try hope he likes it. We will go see Dr.Root the sleep apnea Dr next week on Thursday. He may be able to give Phil some more hope with this thing. Maybe adjust it some. We took a little field trip out and did some Physical Therapy later in the afternoon. He ate a cup of soup noodles for dinner (not real healthy but something different) he ate a pretty healthy breakfast and lunch so I didn't push dinner, especially with a little bit of the jitters in the tummy. We cut back on the nausea medication today. Dr. Kale told us to give it a try and cut back a little more each day.
Matt called and Apple-bees wanted him to start training for a servers job Monday but he is committed to work at Calamity Jane's for the next 7 days starting Tomorrow. B.J.' s a Pizza Grill wants him to come back and talk with the Regional manager tomorrow morning at 11:00. I guess it is a restaurant like Old Chicago. He seems to like the idea of working there, he sees it as a more fun place to work. And if you know my Matthew "Fun" is a BIG part of his life. He never sits around. If there's nothing going on he will make something happen. He really enjoys people. He said the people at B.J.'s were really easy to talk with, so I guess we will just wait and see what the Lord has for him. Thank you for praying. He called and wants me to go to garage sales tomorrow and look for a little tiny couch for his room down in Eugene . So Sam is going to take care of Phil and his appointments and Mom and I will go out hunting for Matt tomorrow. He was happy to get a real nice almost new microwave last week for $5 @ the G-Sale. So he is hoping for our success tomorrow. Matt plans on moving next Sat. Sam is going to help him. It seems so strange that Phil won't be doing this project for him this year it has always been the tradition that the Dad moved the kids and their stuff to college. I guess it's the big brothers responsibility now. Good thing for Big Brothers. I'm thankful that they are friends. It will probably be the last big move back to College from this Family. Time goes by quickly. Well that's all I have to say about that!
Monday, summer vacation is over and back to work and school we go. It will be good. I have a great job and a great group of gals to work with and it will be good to see them all. We look forward to what the year will bring. Thanks again for praying. God is listeningamd smiling,He knows.
Love Donna and Phil, Matthew, Sam and Meaghan, Josh and Laura
