Hi Friends and Family,

Today was a good day! I am so excited to say that Phil was able to feed himself a bowl of Ruth Ashenherst's cream of potato soup, he struggled a little but got every drop down, he liked it so much he scraped the bowl, so as it looks he won't need a feeding tube. He says he would eat better if he had something better to eat! He was also able to brush his own teeth. the Physical Therapist had him stand for a bit and march his legs in place,and scoot from side to side, he leaned to the side because his balance is off, but that's a great start. The Physical therapist was encouraged that he did so well. I had to keep the occupational Therapist from killing him today (but that's another story) but pretty scary, all I and the nurse can say is that it was a good thing I was in there with him.

Our family Dr.  came and saw Phil today he was out of town all last week, and he explained everything to us in real language. He said he has never seen this kind of stroke in a patient in all his years of practice. Pretty much what the brain surgeon said too. They can't figure out what caused it. It was good to talk to him, before he left he said all we can do is pray so I asked him if he would join us in some family prayer time, and told him we hold hands, So he said sure we all prayed even him. That was cool.

Phil was happy to hear about the service today and how well it went (for those of you out of the area we had a 60Th anniversary celebration at church today.) It was so good to see everyone there. I didn't stay long because I wanted to go see Phil and tell him about it. But it was GREAT! Well I think I'll sleep tonight two good days. God is answering prayer. Dr Kale our family Dr. did say that if the neurologist surgeon wasn't there on the floor the night of the surgery Phil would not have lived, they only had one hour to get in his head to do whatever it is they did. God knew he needed to be there at 12:00 at night. Please continue to pray.
