Entry for August 17, 2006
HI Everyone,
Phil had a pretty good day today 3 days now keeping his food down. He only had 1/2 of a headache pill today and didn't take any of the medication for dizziness. Hope this will be helpful in the nausea dept. also help him not be soooo tired, he is really tired tonight he went to bed at 6:00
The occupational therapist he saw today said they have a machine that simulates some of the tools that he works with and she will put him on it next week. That will do him a lot more good than picking up ten tiny items and putting them in a cup. Goodness gracious,he can do that at home!
Tomorrow Phil's roommate from college Don Shearer and his wife are coming and will stay a few days. Phil is looking forward to that. Phil will probably still sleep a lot while they are here but they said that would be OK. It will be good for Phil to see them some.. I always love to have them come visit. I so much enjoy spending time with Rene, Don's wife I wish we lived closer to each other. She's a one in a million kind of great friend.
Thank you for your continued prayers it is so good to see Phil has come this far. Even though some days I get a little tired and overwhelmed. Sunday will be 8 weeks since the brain injury and Wow he really is a miracle. We thank the Lord for his healing power in Phil's life. I am soooooo thankful to have him, I appreciate every day. He thinks I'm nuts (which I am a little) thank goodness. But boy do I know what a special man he is and I don't know what I would do without him. I just look at him daily I smile, and thank the Lord, I know each day is a gift.
Matt called and is having a great time with his friends down in Eugene he has such a variety of friends down there from the party bunch to the not party bunch they are all very dear to him, pray that he can be a light to them. I am so proud of him that he loves his friends right where they are. He went to CCF last night and was so excited to see a bunch of his old buddies. He is his own man and doesn't feel pressure to be anyone but himself. He said that a few of the places he applied for work want him to come back in a few weeks then they know better the schedules of the students who are working and who will go from full time to part time workers. He plans on returning next week to poke his head in the doors of those places. Please keep praying for him. We look forward to all the new things God has in store for him these next several years. It has been so much fun to him watch grow into the man that he is.
Love Donna, Phil and family
