Entry for August 14, 2006
Hi Family and Friends,
Well we have made it through another day.  Phil had his first PT appointment today.  I really like the therapist they assigned to him,  She has had 3 other patients with this kind of stroke in the past. She  is a little familiar with it and she is impressed with Phil's strength and abilities so soon after the stroke.  We did make it to DR Gary he has had a couple patients with this stroke too so he is somewhat familiar with it.  He worked a little on his upper mid and lower back. Phil's back feels a little better.  Phil didn't make it through lunch today, that was a bummer.  So after that he slept most of the day.  He had a little dinner and then we went for a wheelchair walk to the park.  Good thing Sam was here to take him to the corner of Bluff Road Sam almost couldn't handle the w-chair , so there is no way I could have.  I walked him down to the park and almost lost him a few times running over the grates in the street and trying to maneuver the curbs.  Somewhat of a comedy. Some things look easier than they are.  Sam came and got him with the car when we got back to the corner of Bluff and Strawbridge.  So now Phil is resting from all that excitement!
We still really need a lot of prayer and daily strength.  I'm tired, but remember one day at a time.  Each day is a gift.  We are thankful for the small improvements each day.
     Love Donna,  Phil and Family
