Dear Friends and Family,
Today was a good day for Phil we let him rest a lot and he was pretty with it around 6:00.. He was a little disappointed that I spent so much time out of the room. He said that I was the boss, and I needed to be in the room with him the rest of the people were visitors not me (he said it with a little grin on his face). There has been a lot of improvement, maybe the shunt will come out of his head tomorrow the Nero surgeon was encouraged, he told Phil with all his (tactful) bedside manner that he should be dead. After that I think Phil actually understood a little bit of how serious his condition is. Several hours later Phil told one of the visitors that the surgeon told him that, so he is remembering more for longer periods of time, his short term memory is a little goofed up.(Mine is too!

forgive me for forgetting things, I know I am. We were able to tell Phil about how we prayed for his life for many hours the night of the surgery and how God gave him back to us (he looked at me and said So it's your fault I'm still here) with that same little grin, the little stinker..It's hard to see him struggle with standing up and pivoting to the chair with the help of the nurses and physical therapists. I have to remember where he was last week at this time, and thank the Lord for how well he is doing. Julia, Emma, and Joey, Sandy's babies made Uncle Phil Snicker doodles. He guarded them from Randy and Josh when they came in to visit so he knows the value of home made Snicker doodles. Hope we have good news tomorrow and we can get that shunt out get him. So we can get him out of ICU and onto the regular floor. Please continue to pray. God is working.
