Entry for July 30, 2006
Dear Friends and Family,
We just got home from taking Phil back to RIO. He looked kind of sad that he had to go back after having a taste of home. It was hard to leave him.
We had a good weekend everything went well. I don't think we will have to change anything for him around here. He ate better for us here and rested a lot in his big chair and let the dog sleep ith him. He is using the sleeping machine. He couldn't sleep well with it, so took he took it off after an hour, then he tried again later. They say it takes a while to get used to. He kept all of his home cooked food down too. He was happy to see all the things done around here . Thanking Clyde , the mens ministry, and his work buddies for the hand rails that will be up for his use. And was happy to see the improvement in the yard. I think once he is home he will improve fast. It will be good for his spirit after being in the hospital for almost 6 weeks. He will continue to go to Rehab at Mt Hood Med. Center 3-4 times a week for 3 hours each day. It is such a blessing he can get this rehab help. He is hard to keep up with around the house. I am supposed to trail beside him, and spot him, so he doesn't go down. I think he thinks he is beyond that. Yikes! This may be a challenge! At least he isn't babying himself. You know men, they think they can conquer all.
The results from the vestibular test showed that that was not his problem, we just need to keep praying for healing in his brain. I am just sooooo happy that he is doing as well as he is. This has been quite a summer. We thank you for praying.
Love Donna,Phil, and family
