Entry for July 21, 2006
Dear Friends and family.
Well today was another day of suffering for Phil. When I got there at 10 :30 he was sick he lost what went down. He lost some of it on me and was so apologetic I told him I didn't mind, I was just glad he is here to puke on me and as long as he stays on this earth that is OK with me, better a little puke than no Phil. The nurse hadn't given him his nausea medication so I had to hunt her down and get that in him. He was able to keep everything down the rest of the day he continued to have the headache and nausea but kept what went in ,in. I am so thankful that I can be there with him most of the day to push him around in his wheel chair. The therapists are in such a hurry and when they do the pushing, it is to Phil as if he just got off a roller coaster, so I tell them we are going slow. He gets a lot more out of his therapy when he and his stomach get to the station at the same time!

Sam and Matt were able to spend some of the therapy time with Phil today and walked him up and down the hall staying close by to keep him steady. The therapist want him to get a little spring in his step and start moving his arms more (getting ready for that elder dance Josh). they also walked him up, then down the 13 stairs getting him ready for home.

We got the results from the Sleep apnea test and Phil has it BIG time. The Dr. said he sort of wakes up 40+ times an hour. After they put the machine on him it was 11 times and it needs to go down more so they are doing another test on Tuesday night to get the air and pressure just right. He will be sleeping with that machine from now on. I know it will help him not be so tired maybe me too because we both are effected. The Dr. will explain it more next Thurs, it takes a few days to figure things out after the test. I can't understand the waking up 40+ times an hour it must be not really wakes up.

Phil's roommate Bill has a BIG family like we do except they all (well maybe not ALL) like to come around 5-5:30 and stay until lights out. They try to be quiet but there are babies and laughter and family fun involved. I hope that the newness of this place wears off and they don't come every night like that, I may have to have a gentle talk with them. At least Phil doesn't have the screamer, like the poor guy down the hall, they have this guy in a cage and he can be heard all over the floor. I really feel for his roommate he is really having a hard time.

Phil prayed with Laura Randy and I tonight before we left. It is so Sweet to hear him pray and give his life and this situation to the Lord I know I wouldn't be so gracious and patient,. He is a special man. Please continue to pray for his strength mine too. We will make it, with the Lords help and your prayers!
Love Donna Phil
