Entry for July 16, 2006
Dear Friends and Family,
Mom had a long day today so I am giving her a little break . Dad had a hard day, he felt nauseous and had a migraine headache. Around 2:00 he lost his lunch and the pain killers . After that he slept until about 5:00. Josh and I visited and brought Dad some cookies, and he ate 1/2 of one just because he loves me. He ate a little watermelon that mom brought for him but he couldn't even think about eating the dinner the hospital brought him (he's lost 20+ pounds already).
Mom talked the nurse into giving Dad his pain medicine in two small doses and he was able to keep it down and felt much better by the time we left; he was smiling. We talked for a while and it is so good to see my sweet Daddy who still has such strong faith and trust in our Lord. We prayed together before we left and Dad prayed for mom to have strength and faith. He also prayed that we would all be able to persevere through this time. He is still teaching and is such an example to me.
Please continue to pray that he is able to control the migraine headaches, nausea, and double vision. They really impair his ability to perform his best in therapy, and he needs to eat and keep the food down and rest well . He misses everyone and we continue to tell him how many people love him, are praying for him, and can't wait to visit with him. His heart is ready to come home.
Thank you all so much for your love and prayers. We feel so loved.
