Entry for July 5, 2006
I don't have a lot of info on what happened today besides what little mom told me and my time spent with dad. When Matt and I got there we hear really good news about dad and that he was able to eat some chicken casserole on his own and he was scrapping the sides of the dish for all the food he could get. He was also able to control his utensil (fork or spoon, im not sure what it was) even better than yesterday.
Matt and I went back to see him and we were shocked because dad's left forehead had a fairly large gash that was bleeding. We asked him what happened and he told us the had a little fall. His nurse came in and told us that he was seated in a chair and leaned forward and he hit his head on the ground. They did a CT scan and there was no fractures or other problems. He is doing good but he had seven stitches.
There was some good news though, he was joking with Matt and I most of the time we were with him. He also had him laughing a couple times and that was really good to hear. I think that mom told him more of what is happening with him and he seemed to be very thoughtful but didnt have much to say about it. Right now we ask that you would pray for those who are caring for him to be aware that he is still fragile and needs special care. We also ask that you pray for him while he is more aware of what is going on with his health. Pray for the swelling to go down in his head so the shunt can be removed and he can start more intensive physical therapy. And of course, pray for a miracle to happen with dad and that he would recover.
Thank you all, you are blessings to our family.
