Monday Sept 18th

     Dear Family and Friends,

Well the Boys had their Axes and Allies War yesterday.   They were able to fight the war two times.  Phil was able to withstand the whole day.  It was good and fun for him.  I think Sam, Howard, and Andy were the champions.  Phil slept pretty good last night after that.  He is waking up less tired now that he is wearing the bi-pap mask for 5 hour stretches when he goes to bed.  It is noisier than the other so I keep my earplugs handyJ.

Our son in law Josh did a great preach on Sunday.  He is a gifted young man.  It was good for him that his family was able to come.  I know that always encourages him.  He talked about hope in 1st Peter.  It was a good reminder of what this life is all about and that it is very short in the broad span of what God has in store.

Today we went to Mt. Hood Medical center and Phil had some tests done.  One of them is to see if the fluid draining from his nose is brain fluid.  We hope it is just sinus fluid.  Dr. Ordonez says if it is brain fluid that that is a bad thing.  Please pray that it is not and that they were able to get the test done with the sample they got.

We were able to spend a little time with Meaghan this weekend.  She has a lot on her plate and is kept very busy with her school, job, and volunteer work and of course Sam.  She is a determined young woman, it showed up when she left here after church to go back to her home to do her homework.  That is good self discipline.  I admire that in her.

I talked to Matt this afternoon and Thursday he has an interview with the general manager at B.J.’s he also has been asked to go back to Applebee’s later this week they are hiring 2 servers.  Matt said that there was someone else there interviewing when he went in today this person knows people who work there.  We just keep telling Matt God has a plan and he uses these things to direct our lives as we wait in him.  Matt starts back to school on Monday so if he gets one of these jobs it will be a stressful week trying to learn a new job and get started in school please keep him and Meaghan in your prayers.

Phil’s speech continues to get worse he is concerned about that.  He loves to teach and it will be harder for him if this doesn’t improve.  God knows about this and why he is allowing it but that doesn’t mean we have to like it. We just have to rest in the Lord as he shows up in Phil’s life. The speech is frustrating for Phil, but Phil is a humble man and he is leaving it in the Lords hands.  We continue to ask God for complete healing.  It’s OK to ask.  He is our Daddy God.  What a comfort to know that our God wants us to think of him as our Daddy.  I have been blessed to have a Great earthly Daddy and my kids also have had the best earthly Daddy so it is easy for us to go to our heavenly Father and talk to Him as he asks us to, as our Abba Father (Daddy).  God loves each one of us like that he is not far away but he is with us each moment.  Even those moments when we ignore him and turn our eyes from him and forget that he is there. His hand is always there reaching for us his kids.

Thank you for praying for us.  We appreciate it so much.

Love  Donna & Phil
