Hi Family and Friends,
Happy Wednesday! We have had a pretty busy week so far. Monday after work Phil and I went to his three therapy sessions. We talked with Zoe about Phil’s new speech problem. She thinks it is Neurological and wants us to talk with Dr. Brown the Neurologist on Friday when we go see him. She thinks that she can help him some so he won’t be graduating from speech Therapy for at least a month yet. Phil will be doing some actual speech training now instead of the cognitive work that he had been doing with Zoe.
Yesterday we went to see Dr. Wilson the he is the Rehab. Specialist so we were back down at Good Sam after work yesterday. He also wants us to talk to Dr. Brown about the cold face and speech problem. To bad we couldn’t see Dr. Brown on Monday before we saw all these other people who want us to talk to him first. Tomorrow when we go see Dr. Kale he will probably say the same thing. Dr. Brown’s first available appointment is Friday. That seems crazy to me that it takes 6 weeks to get in to see that Dr. (I’m venting a little here). You would think they could squeeze a brain surgery patient in a little earlier. I just have to be a little more patient.
Other than the speech, cold nose and mouth and cpap problems, Phil is coming along pretty well he has lost a few more lbs. but is eating better, last night he ate bacon French toast and scrambled eggs. Not huge portions but pretty good. He was a little dizzy and had a little headache yesterday but he has been pretty busy. Tomorrow they are bringing out the new cpap machine we hope that one works better for him. He is doing a little better with the one he has due to the medication he is taking at night.
Matt will be coming home for a little visit today. He is still hoping to get some work down in Eugene nothing has opened up yet for him. Please continue to pray that God will lead him to what His best is for Matt. I asked Matt Monday if he was praying about this and he said he is.
Well for those of you who don’t attend Sandy Baptist and live in the area this is an invitation for you to come hear Josh our son in law preach on Sunday. If you can’t come keep him in your prayers as he prepares. The services are 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM After church Sunday the Boys have a Big Battle of Axes and Allies planned here at our house. Sunday should really wear Phil out. But I think it will be good for him.
Today will be a day for rest for Phil (ME TOO!) he has no appointments. He will be able to rest and have a good visit with his parents. They leave Sat. for a week to go visit Ed then they will come back here for a little while.
I am enjoying my back to work life. I really like my job and love the kids. There are so many little souls at that school that need love and care. It’s fun to see the variety of personalities and character there. It is good to have some other work to think about.
Well hope you all are enjoying your daily routine. Remember life is short and we need to love our people that God has put in our lives.
Love
