Seems that Portia is starting a tradition of her own - and that is wishing my dear friend Angela in the US a happy birthday.



I did the same last year and threatened the poor dear with a visit from me should another Clinton be running for the White House in 2008. Well! as you can see from the picture above, another Clinton is seriously thinking about running for the White House (and a jolly good job she would do of it too!).



Enough of the politics, let's get on with the real business of today and that is wishing the wonderful Angela a Happy Birthday.



My dear, as always, you have been there for me when needed and I hope that I have been there for you when you need me. A lot of people decry internet friendships saying they are facile and have no depth. I think our friendship has proved otherwise. It has stood the test of time and still, after all this time we still giggle over the most ridiculous things - such as husbands, children, the vagaries of business and other even more ridiculous things that I won't go into here....



So, Angela, here is a Happy Birthday to you from your friend Portia in London - I hope the squirty husband remembers to get you a really NICE birthday present and that you are cherished by your family and friends today - you deserve it.



I must point out here that anything less than total cherishing should be met with extreme grumpiness and a refusal to cook anything for at least a week.
