One part of this project is the information gathering. All of these professional cars have data plates that reveal part of their history.
With the help of the Professional Car Society group which helped me in decoding the information contained on the data plates, I was able to put the following together:
This Pontiac Bonneville 8 cylinder commercial chassis was built in Pontiac Michigan during the first week of December 1968. It was painted GM Dover White before being shipped to Kosciusko Mississippi (Superior Coach Corporation converted the Pontiac chassis. The Cadillac chassis were converted in Lima Ohio.)
This ambulance was the 159th conversion that Superior did that year (The 1969 chassis were probably available starting in August 1968). It was a 48" Hightop Ambulance and was manufactured on January 1st, 1969.
