Bob n Buddy started the passage from Panama City, Florida to Isla Mujeres, Mexico yesterday, May 18th around lunchtime. Weather conditions were really good, N to NE winds, 10-15 knots, waves 3-5 feets with a period of 6 seconds... Blow wind, Blow... get Bob across the Gulf safely and fast! We are expecting him to 'appear' on the other side around May 22nd.
Bob sent me a txt about 5 miles out of Panama City, letting me know he's seeing no more land and that he's got a long way to go (no sh**t!)... Buddy's been barking at dolphins whilst they had lunch at Shell island where Bob also scrubbed the Francis Lee's bottom one last time before the journey to get rid of Watson Bayou's floaty things and organisms that love attaching themselves to our hull.
Gather all manitous you might have hidden in your pockets... Bon voyage Bob n Budd!!
