This weekend ![]() This weekend, KB and John brought Carter down to visit. Little did they know what we had planned for them (insert Dr. Evil laugh here). Saturday morning, we were all at the Zoo by 8:30 in the morning. The gorillas were again the best part of the zoo, with the two in the inside area huffing around for dominance. John had a close encounter with the gigantic tortise, and the Grizzlies were enjoying the morning on the hilside. The zoo was great, and we probably stayed a little too long for the kiddies. We brought them home and put them in their cribs for a morning nap. It was at this time when John, Grandpa, and I started working on tearing out the front window in the boys room (huh?). We started pulling trim off the outside of the window while the boys were still asleep in the room. We got into it and realized that we were also going to have to replace some water-rotted wood and plywood. Off to Lowes. We eventually woke the kids up and pulled the window out. The girls fed the kids and took them shopping while we were in high gear replacing the window. We were still at it when they came home so the girls took the kids into the kiddie pool on the back deck. We finished around 6:30 (still 93 Degrees), showered and then helped cook dinner. The quote was "That is an F5 window. If a tornado hits, the house will blow down but that window will still be standing there." While we were waiting for the tenderloins to cook, we were all in the living room playing with the kids. Carter stole the show as he would stand up and take a few steps ALL BY HIMSELF! Way to go, Carter. Sunday, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for brunch. Nana Shanline was there and was showing us all the pictures and stuff from her recent trip to Korea. Cool. I even got a small flask of Korean Sokki (I know that doesn't make sense, humor me). Katherine learned from her cousin this weekend, as Monday night she was also standing and taking a few steps. How did we ever come this far? We are all so blessed. 2007-07-17 17:46:29 GMT
