Last night was an eventful one for Gagey. He did some wonderful things like saying “cookie” and keeping his shoes on, but he really shined at bath time. Here is how it went.

Grandpa was over last night and helped give baths. I was working on Nolan, who was the last to get his bath, when Gage started straining in the tub. We have had several previous “accidents” in the tub from Gage before, so I had Grandpa take him out of the tub that instant. We had a towel on the floor for when the kids get out of the tub, so Grandpa held him over the towel to drip dry a bit while I finished up Nolan. Of course, you can figure out where this is going. Gage started to poop on the towel, so Grandpa held him up on the toilet where he finished. That’s right, Gage was the first to officially use the toilet. Grandpa and I were laughing hard, which I think gave a positive impression, because for the rest of the night, anytime we would say “pooped in the toilet,” Gage would smile and clap. Good for you, Gagey!

As I mentioned before, the kids have shoes now, which are really more like Moccasins. After the kids bath, Katherine was doing a great job retrieving the shoes from the hallway for her brothers. She and Nolan are also signing “more” and “eat.” They are growing up so fast. Pretty soon she will be telling me “My tummy says I should eat cookies for dinner or else I will get sick.”
