Mother's day weekend ![]() Mother’s day weekend didn’t start off that well. Wichita’s Riverfest started this weekend with a parade Friday night. We thought it would be fun to be at the parade with the kids, so we loaded everyone up into the van ad headed that way. The grueling traffic should have been the first hint that we were biting off a little than a killer whale could chew. When we got to down town and our planned path was barricaded (by the map it should have been open), I tried to find a way around. We came to a mutual agreement that Amy should drive, switched drivers, and then sat in traffic for another 20 minutes, all to the protest of the three little one’s. Saturday was better. Aunt K and Uncle J were in town, along with cousin Carter. We all went with Grandma and Grandpa to the art fair at Century II. Of course we had to have some Carnival food when we were there. We all then came back to our house, where we fed and changed the little ones and “POOF,” the girls were off to spend the rest of the afternoon shopping. The guys decided to take the kids for a walk, which was fun. All of us ate later on, grilling out hot dogs and kielbasa. The night ended with Katherine making funny faces and an interesting conversation on snoring (you would never guess). Sunday, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to have brunch. We had fruit, muffins, and pizza quiche. We all went outside to take pictures and give the kids rides on Grandpa’s swing. Gage and Nolan loved it so much that they were cackling outright. After hugs and kisses, we left and went to Target and Sam’s club. Mom went inside to shop at both places while I and the kids took naps in the van with the AC on. It was a little difficult to get them to bed, and we thought Monday was going to be rough for Grandma, but it was actually the opposite. The kids slept most of the day on Monday. Monday night was interesting. All three of them were in the tub when Kaso decided bite Gage. Mommy pulled him out to comfort him, while I tried to scold her. We will put her in time out in her high chair when she bites during the day, but that is kinda hard when she is in the tub, so I emptied the water and took out all the toys as some kind of consequence. I must have taken my eyes off the two in the tub for a second to ask Mommy how was Gage. Insert eerie organ music here. When I turned back, Nolan had the hair-covered drain stopper linkage in his mouth. I suppose someday I will laugh at that. 2007-05-16 17:30:24 GMT
