Bumps & bruises

Where to start? Thursday? Ok.
Grandpa came over and helped give baths. After everyone was clean and still playing in the tub, Gage spit up in the tub. That necessitated a quick end to the baths. While we were scrambling to get everyone dressed, Gage fell over and bumped his head on the floor. Poor Gage. Then we pulled the boys out of the bathroom and left Kaso (Katherine Sophia) to crawl from the bathroom. Grandpa threw a ball down the hall to entice her to come. She grabbed the ball, played with it, and then put it down to crawl to us. Grandpa then asked her, “What happened to the ball? Where’s the ball?” She then turned around to look down the hall where the ball was. She also does that with “where’s Mommy?” and “Where’s Daddy?” We also found out that Nolan loves Mashed potatoes that night.
Friday. I took the day off to finish up the back yard, planning on spading it. Yeah right. I quickly borrowed Grandma’s van and rented a tiller. While I was inside getting ready to go, Nolan fell over in the kitchen and bumped his head. Oh, no! Not a good start for Nolan today.
I got the cheap front-tine tiller. To engage the clutch, you had to squeeze the clutch lever to the handle. I quickly wore out my right hand and grabbed a baby food jar to slip over both to keep the lever engaged. I would start the tiller AFTER I had stuck the jar over the lever and handle. It’s like starting and stick-shift car in gear. Ok, Ok, you got it, I’ll move on.
Grandpa got done with work early at 2pm and stopped by to help Grandma, which was great as I hadn’t eaten yet as I was trying to get the whole thing tilled before she left with the van. Amy got home at 5:30 and we fed the kids and put them to sleep before Amy went out with the girls.
Saturday. I spent the morning getting grass seed and sewing it. I also set up a sprinkler system to keep the seed moist, and I was one sprinkler short. Off to Wallymart. As I got out of my car in the parking lot, I ran into a couple that had twins. It turns out that Amy and I had multiples class with them last year. What luck! We exchanged numbers and baby names and we hope to hear from them soon.
Last night was a good night for sleeping. Only Katherine and Gage woke up, and only once each. Mommy let me sleep until 9:30. Katherine was eating from the jar, this morning, as Daddy thought it would be a fun thing to do. Shame on him. The picture is of Katherine playing dress up Friday morning.
