A long time ago in college, a buddy of mine (his stage name was Izzy Dixon) and I walked into a Walmart where there was a person sitting in front of a folding table signing people up for Sam's memberships. We signed up and paid our money, and the guy handed us a card with a hand written serial number on it. If we were to go to Sam's the next day, all we would have to do is hand them the card and we would get our membership card. When we went there, we stood in line with all the others who signed up at Walmart and finally got our pictures taken and our membership card. However, the gal making the cards mistook a 0 for a 6 on my card and handed me someone else's card with my picture on it. The name on the card? Perry Wilburn. From then on my stage name was Perry Wilburn. I did get the right card after we laughed out loud in front of everyone at the hapless Sam's club employee. College guys are such jerks.
