Disrespect Of Black Women
photo

These comments are so true. Wake up Sisters, and Brothers. You can't get mad at someone else for saying something about you when you are doing the same. It's like saying"Do as I say, and not as I do" This comment is from a young listener of the Steve Harvey show in NY.

Good Morning: Steve, Tommy, Shirley and Carla I must admit that I am not pleased with the comment made by that man (who ever he is). The problem that I have is exactly the same as Steve. Our hip hop culture has created an acceptable disrespect for women in the black community. The reason why I say acceptable is because young black women attempt to live the life depicted in the music. My mother always told me that young girls are hotter in the pants then boys could ever be, and therefore they can control the climate of disrespect. I have never in my life seen more back crack and little shirts. Lots of black women disrespect each other every day. We sneak behind each others back having relationships with each others husbands in an effort to say I got that and he brought me Gucci or Prada (like a notch in our belts, the way we claim black men treat us). Black women disrespect themselves and blame it on black men and their so called inability to be faithful. May be, just may be, if black women had more respect for themselves they would just as well receive respect from black men, but instead we run around acting as if HIV is a myth and it just won't happen to us. Like Steve has said time and time again; Men do everything to impress women. In 2007 that only consists of driving a fancy car and flashing some money. Women are no longer interested in a BMW (Black Man Working). Black women will accept a dealer or a disrespectful rapper just to be stylish. Yes of course there is a big difference between a good black woman and a two bit woman that laughs when her man calls another woman out of her name. What Imus said is of course disrespectful, but black people spend millions of dollars a year to hear some ex-dealer that got a record contract call a black woman out of her name. We must check our self black women because we have already wrecked ourselves. It is time for black women to demand respect and stop volunteering to be baby mama's busting out car windows of the women that your boy friend is married to because you can't get extra time. Learn to love you so no one else has to. Learn to respect you so we can legitimately gripe when someone calls us out of our name. Black men need to be set straight because black woman have allowed them to be as crooked as a two dollar bill. In turn black women are as crooked as a two dollar bill. Of course I am not talking about every black woman in the world, but we all know that one bad apple spoils the bunch.
