Well, its the weekend and i'm looking forward to my son going to camp. It starts on Monday and its overnight! I'm so needing the break as we have been on total lockdown as he has become an escape artist. Our backyard is not fenced in and he has gone out of our subdivison, unto the mainroad and scared us to death , almost getting hit by a car on his bike. He doesn't realize or understand the danger of this amongst other things. He is a runner and we've been couped up in the house for a while. I'm working on getting a grant to get a fence, a privatecy fence and we needed it yesterday. School is another month and I can't imagine being stuck in the house for that long...... I'll go nuts!

I'm just praying we'll get approved for it! Anyway, at least I'll have a break soon and I've got so much to do. The house needs an overhaul and yard work needs to be done. Plus, i've got to make my rounds in the community, promoting autism awareness. Wish me luck! Hope all is well, with everyone!

God Bless!

Hi there. So glad to hear from you.
That's terrible about your son. Do you guys have a waiver program where you live? I got my son on this thing called Level one waiver. It entitles you to a respite worker to come into the home and stay with him, so many hours a week to give you a break. And we have something else called Assisted Living Fund that paid for me to have a fenced in play yard built for him. I had to fight for all this, like everything else, here in South Eastern Ohio, there is limited services and nobody tells you about anything. You have to fight for everything you get. I shouldn't say fight, but you know what I mean.
Right now my biggest struggle is getting a respite worker. We're on the waiver, but they keep telling me there is no respite workers available in my area. I can find someone on my own, and then they have to be trained through the agency, like pass a drug test, pass a criminal background check, etc. But I can't find anyone to do it. I hate this place and get so aggrivated at times. I don't know a lot of people except the few friends I have met at my sons school. Noah's school starts back August 21 and I look forward to the break, but I always get so upset when he goes back. I miss him being around the house with me.

It's so nice having someone to talk to about this stuff. I'm so glad I met you. Have a great day and take care!
