Rob Zombie cd review
By: Brian Alspaugh
Rob Zombie's new cd "The Sinister Urge" was released a couple of weeks ago and this is one customer who wants his money back.  Aside from his song Iron Head with Metal Godfather Ozzy, this cd doesn't have much to offer.
To start with the cd is only 33 minutes long.  Then you take out the two songs without words.  Then take out a song that was relased a year ago and your left with 8 new songs lasting about 22 minutes.
To say this cd was rushed is an understatement .  It feels like Zombie was concentrating more on his new movie that this cd.  This followup to 1998's "Hellbilly Deluxe" is seriously flawed.
The lyrics are almost comically bad, no new ground is explored and even on the new 8 tracks it feels that he is just rehashing songs from his last album.  The guitar tracks are almost interchangable and the drums forgetable.
Overall unless your a huge Ozzy fan, the only reason to buy this cd is the cool sampler of new bands that comes with it.  I give "The Sinister Urge" 4.5 out of 10.
