| Dolores Claiborne Review By: Brian Alspaugh 12/06/01 Dolores Claiborne is a novel by Stephen King that I just got done reading. I was reading this in between reading the third part of his gunslinger series. This novel is about a women's life on an island in Maine, and the choices she's forced to make. She is married to a man that despises her, and she works for a women who fires employee's for the slightest mishap. She notice's a change in her daughter, and can't see what the problem is, until she looks in the dirction of her husband. This story isn't one of his best works. The story itself isn't bad, but I am irriated by the way the main character talks. After 300 pages this southern accent really makes the book hard to read. But overall I guess it couldn't be that bad, I had trouble putting it down until I was done. Overall I would mildy recommend this book, That is unless you are easily irritated by bad accents. I give Dolores Claiborne a 6.0 out of 10. |
