| Diary Of A Musician Part V 5/30/02 It's a play on Diary of a Madman, the 1981 Ozzy cd, get it!? Nevermind. This is going to be an ongoing column going into the life of s musician (me), and what I am currently going thru. I just got back from playing at Eastern High School the night before. It all turned out well in the end, but I wouldn't have thought so before the day was over. Lets go thru the list of things that went wrong. The last time we have played the song "All night and Day", was at the last show at Eastern Feb 14th. Now we can pile on the fact that one of the two singers is sick and can't make it. On top of this, the drummer canot make it as well. We decide we are going to do this song anyways, and I began to hook up my gear. I notice that my pedal is missing! So now after practicing the song twice, I speed towards my house to grab the forgotten pedal. Keep in mind that it's 6:40 and the show starts at 7:30. Plus we haven't even done a sound check yet! As you can tell from reading previous columns, that this hectic pattern seems to follow me wherever I go. I made it back, and we did a two minute sound check on the song we haven't played in three months, and without the drummer or one of the two singers. After all this we played the song in front of about two hundred, and it came out good. Crazy world, crazy life. Check out my Bands Site |
