Diary Of A Musician Part II
It's a play on Diary of a Madman, the 1981 Ozzy cd, get it!? Nevermind. This is going to be an ongoing column going into the life of s musician (me), and what I am currently going thru. Well we started to record the song "Lizzy Borden", on a day that semed to be cursed. We had a four hour time limit, which seemed reasonable for a song's guitar, drum and vocal tracks. So with the band in the car, we headed to Eaton Rapids to begin recording. As we unload the equipment, I realize a slight oddity. The mic is nowhere to be seen! I realize as I was loading up equipment to record a song, I forgot the mic! Hey it culd happen to anyone, right? Then to rectify the situation, I decided to go to the bank, take out 30 of my last 40 dollars and a buy a mic from the local Radio Shack. By Radio Shack I mean Radio Shack/ Video Store. We browsed thru their extensive collection of mics, (2) bought it and brought it back. After practicing setting up and getting ready to record I break a string. Since their isn't a music store in Eaton Rapids, I decided to improvise and play the song anyways. After we recorded the guitar and drum tracks we had time for one take on the vocals, which wasn't fair to Autumn (The singer,... you should already know that). Anyhow we got the drum's and guitar down. Next we set off to record our debut video for "Lizzy Borden"
