Ozzy Osbourne: Down To Earth

By now everybody's heard of Ozzy Osbourne. Some know him as Black Sabbath's best vocalist, others as the loving (and foulmouth) family man on his reality TV show, The Osbournes. But Ozzy is entertaining in more ways than one. He is remembered for his crazy antics like biting the head off a bat in his earlier days, as well as for his amazing music which has earned him the title of "The Godfather of Metal." All fans of metal music owe Ozzy a great deal of respect for his contributions to the modern headbanging world.

News:

  • 5/16/02 It appears Jack Osbourne has recruited Swedish metal extremists Meshuggah to play the second stage of this year's Ozzfest
  • 4/16/02 Ozzy's kids may put the halt on a second season of "The Osbournes." Understandably, they are sick of cameras in the household and the whole family is growing weary of the constant media attention.
  • 4/15/02 Ozzy was immortalized in one of the stars on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
  • 4/8/02 Epic records rereleases 4 classic Ozzy albums: Blizzard Of Ozz, Diary Of A Madman, Tribute, and No More Tears. However, there is a new rhythm section added on these reissues consisting of Mike Bordin on drums and Robert Trujillo on bass, replacing Lee Kerslake and Bob Daisley respectively.
  • 4/5/02 Rob Zombie will fill Rage Against The Machine's (with vocalist Chris Cornell) place on the Ozzfest tour. Zombie will share the mainstage with Ozzy, System of A Down, P.O.D, Drowning Pool, Adema, and Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society.
  • 3/28/02 Former Ozzy drummer Randy Costillo (age 50) died on March 26-the exact cause of death at press time is not known for sure, but is believed to be attributed to complications from his battle with cancer.
