It was a beautiful day to start the opening of the DTWA season. The Fitz vs Fitz battle was hyped and was marked as the 200^th time they have faced each other in their careers.  A record crowd was on hand to watch El Ka-Bang make his start opposite "The Captain". El Ka-Bang look good in his first start of the year until a 75 pitch third inning. He was pulled after giving up a 3 run Home Run after an error allowed the inning to continue. El Ka-Bang complained of a sore shoulder and was quoted as saying that “his mattress is trying to kill him”. “The Pretty Boy” LaBruno came on to pitch in relief. The pretty boy served up another solo shot and complained the rest of the game about his teammate’s pitching ability. But the lead narrowed when El Ka-Bang took a high pitch just over El ChuBaka. “The Captain” pitched 9 solid innings only allowing 3 runs. “The Captain” was given plenty of offensive help by his teammate, "Shazam", who hit 3 Home Runs totaling 6 RBI’s for the day. But the games highlights were not the K’s “The Captain” continuously rang up or the 3 long balls, it was the entertainment of the bickering of El Ka-Bang and “the Pretty Boy”.

Final Score 6-3.

 Next weeks projected starters Shazam will make his first start of the year and Vito will start opposite him. To thank the fans of the DTWA we are considering a Dave Lopez "bobble head day".

After the game there were trade rumors swirling around both clubhouses. The recent shortage of players in the DTWA has causes a shortage equal talent. “The Captain” was quoted as saying “there is no parity in this league, we continue to win year after year, I guess the fact that the 2 most dominate players are on the same team, scares other players and prevents them from showing up at the ball park. Maybe we will have to break up the MOST Dominate team in the DTWA just to attract more players.”  

 

Tournament talk has already surfaced and the possibility of fielding a team without one of the members of the CASH lineup has become a possibility. The GM of CASH has stated that they are looking for someone who can help win in the later rounds of the tourney, we need to acquire another veteran ace that can throw hard.

 

 

 

 

 

This year the DTWA had two teams enter the Summer Showdown in Trenton NJ. Rather than have the Fans of the DTWA read about the teams actions at the tournament I felt they might want to see what happened. Of course this is a brief look into what happened at the tournament. All of the great photo opportunities were not caught on film.

Cash had another successful outing at the tournament. They proved to be the team with more Heart and went deeper into the tournament than the other Fab 5. We proves heart beats out talent anyday! Congrats to Cash. Thanks for the company Fab 5 it was fun for the short time you were there! 

Hopefully this can resurrect the DTWA from the recent absences of some of its players in the past week. Rumor has it Cash will remain united for another tournament in October. The DTWA will resume its normal playing this Saturday. Hopefully some of the members of the Fab 5 will stop bye to so the Cash can finish what they started! And Matt we know the real reason why you didn't want to pitch against the Cash, it was because you knew deep inside you went to the Tournament with the wrong team! Cash may forgive you and let you come down with them in October!

Vito why don't you stop talking trash and show up on Saturday so we can show you who the real best hitter in the DTWA really is!

If you don't like what I said or feel I am wrong you know where we can settle it: at El Ka-Bang Stadium! Bring your balls if you have any left!
